Procedure
1. A 250 ml beaker was obtained an filled a quarter of the way with solid succinic acid by using a spatula
2. The 250 ml beaker was then filled ¾ of the way with ethanol.
3. The solution was mixed with a glass stirring rod for about 15 minutes.
4. The solution on top of the remaining succinic acid was pipetted into four different centrifuge tubes evenly ¾ of the way up. The 4 tubes were then centrifuged for about three minutes.
5. Four 20 ml viles were massed and recorded
6. The solution from each centrifuge tube was poured into a 10ml graduated cylinder to get the volume of the solution
7. The solution from the graduated cylinder was then poured into the viles while the vessels were tared so that the mass of the solution can be obtained.
8. A 500 ml beaker was filled with water about 1cm deep and placed on a hotplate.
9. The four viles were placed on the bottom of the beaker and heated until all the liquid evaporated from the viles

10. Once all the liquid was evaporated, the viles were remeasured
